DoJ will seek death penalty for Boston bomber – Barr
United States Attorney General William Barr (pictured) told Associated Press News Agency the Justice Department will demand capital punishment be used against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the man convicted of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three and injured over 260 people.
Barr revealed the Department of Justice plans to submit an appeal to a lower court ruling that took death sentence off the table, claiming the DoJ intends to take the matter to the US Supreme Court.
“We will do whatever’s necessary,” Barr told the media outlet. “We will take it up to the Supreme Court and we will continue to pursue the death penalty,” he added.
