Done my best to produce political results – Abe
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confirmed on Friday his resignation as the head of the government, citing deteriorating health as the reason for his decision.
Abe said he hasn’t been feeling well since mid-July, and started undergoing medical treatments from the start of August.
“I had no choice but to resign,” Abe insisted, adding that he has done his best to produce results in the political sphere. However, Abe noted that he is leaving his position without achieving the desired goals.
