Dow down over 100 points as Treasury yields rise
Stocks extended losses on Wall Street on Tuesday as Treasury yields climbed amid growing talk of economic recovery.
Traders digested fresh data reports, including the Conference Board’s consumer sentiment survey for March. According to the survey, consumer mood in the United States significantly improved this month as coronavirus vaccinations progressed across the country.
The Dow Jones was down 102 points at 1:40 pm ET. Amgen and Cisco led the losses on the Dow. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 declined 0.35% as the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.59%.
