Dow drops nearly 100 pts in premarket on China tensions
Premarket trading on Friday saw stocks on Wall Street in negative territory with the Dow Jones dropping nearly 100 points amid heightened tensions with China.
United States President Donald Trump is expected to announce his administration’s “powerful” response to Beijing’s approval of a new national security law for Hong Kong. The Chinese Foreign Ministry already vowed to take countermeasures against countries that interfere in its internal affairs.
The Dow was down 95 points at 4:30 am ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 lost 0.30%, while the Nasdaq 100 declined 0.23%.
