Dow surges 600 pts premarket to recover some losses
Wall Street extended gains in premarket trading on Friday to bounce back somewhat from sharp losses recorded on the previous day.
Meanwhile, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett asserted that July “would be a good time” for a new aid package to support the United States economy amid the coronavirus crisis.
The Dow Jones jumped 2.46% or over 600 index points at 4:52 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 rose 1.92% and 2.11% at the same time, respectively.
The euro added 0.31% against the dollar, changing hands for 1.13340 a minute later.
