Dow turns negative on disappointing data
After starting Friday’s session with gains, the Dow Jones Industrial Average turned negative as investors digested worse-than-expected jobs and wholesale inventories data. The Dow fell 0.33% or 102 points at 10:29 am ET. 3M led the losses as its shares slid 2.42% at 10:34 am ET.
Other indexes remained in positive territory but trimmed gains from earlier in the session. The S&P 500 was up 0.04% at 10:32 am ET and the Nasdaq 100 added 0.33% at 10:33 am ET.
