Draghi sworn-in as Italian prime minister
Former European Central Bank head, Mario Draghi (pictured right), was sworn-in as the next prime minister of Italy on Saturday.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Quirinale, with President Sergio Matarella present. Besides Draghi, 23 ministers of his government also took an oath of office. After the ceremony, Draghi briefly met with his predecessor Giuseppe Conte (pictured left).
The Draghi government consists of four members of the Five Star Movement, while other major parties the Democratic Party, the Northern League (Lega) and Forza Italia, will get three ministries each. Italia Viva and Free and Equal (Liberi Uguali) will both be in charge of one ministry.
