ECB’s De Guindos says is against investing in cryptos
Vice President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Luis de Guindos (pictured) asserted on Tuesday he “wouldn’t recommend” investing in “crypto-assets.”
Answering questions during an event organized by the Complutense University of Madrid, De Guindos pointed out that the “economic foundations of crypto-assets” are unclear, and suggested that investing in cryptos “shouldn’t be seen as a serious alternative to traditional investing.”
“Crypto-assets do not pose a risk to financial stability at the moment,” he said, adding that “the rise and fall of bitcoin” resulted in “no major turmoil on the global markets.”
