ECB’s Holzmann doesn’t expect deflation in Eurozone
European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member Robert Holzmann said on Friday that he doesn’t expect deflation across the Eurozone but that the “deflation in the sense of negative inflation in some countries for months is very likely.”
He added that he agrees with the decision to increase PEPP by €600 billion but noted he would want some other facts to be included in ECB discussion as well.
However, he argued that perhaps “decision on PEPP should have been deferred, until autumn, (not that program should have lasted longer),” but other council members disagreed.
