ECB’s not targeting euro exchange rate – Lagarde
The European Central Bank is not targeting any particular euro exchange rate, the head of the organization Christine Lagarde (pictured) stated on Thursday.
However, the ECB “monitors very carefully” the rate developments due to their impact on economic activity and the outlook for price stability in the Eurozone, the official said.
“It has been quite volatile lately,” Lagarde noted, adding the bank will continue to monitor the rate and “the implication it has on the medium-term inflation outlook.”
