EMA’s statement on AZ vaccine in next two days
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Tuesday it would give an official statement on the relations between AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford University’s vaccine against COVID-19 and the creation of blood clots in people that received it on either Wednesday or Thursday.
“EMA’s Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) has not yet reached a conclusion and the review is currently ongoing,” the agency said. “We will communicate and hold a press briefing as soon as the review is finalized.”
The remarks come following the report the EMA would announce it had found a connection between the jab and blood clots. Despite that, the United Kingdom’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) advised medical workers to continue using the vaccine.
