Erdogan: Turkey aims to rid southern border from terrorism
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Saturday that Turkish military operations on its southern border and northern Iraq aim to eradicate terrorism from the region.
Earlier today, Turkey launched ground and air military operations targeting Kurdish militant bases in northern Iraq. Erdogan commented that the operations were successful saying the army is “now directly at the center of terrorism, indicate that we are approaching this goal, ” adding that there is “no place for separatist terror groups” in Turkey, Syria, or Iraq.
Erdogan noted that Iraq’s territorial integrity has been respected, even though its army was conducting operations in the northern part of the country.
