Esper’s Confederate flag ban angered Trump – report
United States President Donald Trump was furious with Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s (pictured left) decision to ban Confederate flags from being shown on military property, CNN reported, citing two anonymous sources familiar with knowledge of the situation.
At the moment, Esper is not facing dismissal from the post, even though the relationship between him and Trump has significantly worsened recently over a multitude of issues, according to another pair of insiders.
Notably, Trump has previously said that he would consider vetoing a congressional bill that would prohibit US military bases from bearing names of Confederate officers.
