Ether over $3,000 for first time since mid-May
The price of Ether rose on Saturday over $3,000 for the first time since the middle of May after its blockchain Ethereum underwent a hard fork in order to make transfer costs more stable and predictable.
Meanwhile, United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen reportedly advised against limiting federal regulation of cryptocurrencies within the proposed bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Ether gained 6.03% at 6:49 am ET to sell for $3,064.10. A minute later, Bitcoin went up by 2.06% to go for $43,687.000, standing stably above $43,000.
