EU: FB might face antitrust probe over new acquisition
The European Commission stated on Tuesday the European Union might subject Facebook Inc. to another antitrust probe over its acquisition of customer relationship management (CRM) platforms Kustomer, which offers the option of bringing conversations from different channels together into a single-screen view.
The commission said the request for referral came from Austria. The member states will have 15 days to present their stance on the move, and then the commission will decide whether if it will accept the referral or not.
Meanwhile, the tech giant’s representatives said the company was looking “forward to demonstrating to regulators that Facebook and Kustomer would offer more choices and better services through this pro-competitive deal.”
