EU recommends members lift Japan travel restrictions
The European Council stated on Thursday member states should gradually lift restrictions on non-essential travel from Japan.
The recommendation is not legally binding, however, as member states’ authorities remain responsible for any modification of the travel rules.
Besides Japan, the bloc suggested removing restrictions for travel from Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and China, noting that the last one is subject to confirmation of reciprocity.
