Euro area November trade deficit at €1.5 billion
The international goods trade deficit in the euro area stood at €1.5 billion in November, compared with a surplus of €25 billion in November 2020, the new report from Eurostat revealed on Friday. This is the first time the Eurozone recorded a trade deficit since January 2014.
International exports in the euro area amounted to €225.1 billion in November, up 14.4% on a yearly basis, while imports stood at €226.6 billion, increasing 32% year-on-year. Intra-euro area trade rose to €204.3 billion in November, up by 22.1% compared with November 2020.
