Euro area retail sales drop 0.3% in September
Retail sales in the Eurozone drop 0.3% in September compared to August, Eurostat reported on Friday. In the European Union, retail trade was down by 0.2%. The greatest decline was recorded in Germany at 2.5%, while Estonia saw sales growth of 7.1%.
On a yearly basis, sales increased by 2.5% in the euro area and 3.2% in the EU. The highest yearly rise in the total retail trade volume was registered in Slovenia at 17.1%, while Germany saw a year-on-year fall of 1.1%.
