Euro area unemployment down to 7.7% in June
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the euro area fell to 7.7% in June, according to a report released by Eurostat on Friday. The figure marks a decline from May’s rate of 8%.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the whole European Union was 7.1% in June, down from 7.3% in May.
Among member states, the jobless rate was the highest in Greece and Spain at 15.1%, followed by Italy at 10.2%. On the other hand, the lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Czechia at 2.8% and the Netherlands at 3.2%.
