Europe closes mostly higher amid data, earnings reports
European equities ended Tuesday’s session mostly higher amid new earnings reports and data releases. Earlier, BNP Paribas and BP PLC published annual rises in their fourth-quarter revenue. Besides, market participants continued following statements made by Western leaders on the Ukraine crisis and the coronavirus situation.
The DAX gained 0.24% at the close, with Continental AG up by 4.97%. The CAC 40 added 0.27%, while ArcelorMittal SA improved by 3.13%, and the FTSE 100 declined 0.09%, as Ocado Group PLC dropped by 13.61%.
The euro was down by 0.22% against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET, selling for $1.14128. In comparison, the pound grew by 0.16% to go for $1.35516 at the same time.
