Europe ends lower after data
Major stock markets in Europe ended Wednesday’s trading session in the red with today’s batch of economic data in focus. Meanwhile, ECB’s Isabel Schnabel stated that the risk of the Delta variant of COVID-19 might be overestimated. Germany’s Economy Minister Peter Altmaier said that there was no reason to revise the country’s growth forecast.
The FTSE 100 finished flat, with International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. decreasing 3.47%. The DAX lost 0.68% at the closing bell as Adidas AG tumbled 2.95%. The CAC 40 slid 1.04% with Alstom SA falling 4.58%.
The euro gained 0.11% against the dollar at 5:29 pm CET to sell for $1.18156. At the same time, the pound rose 0.24% to $1.38411.
