Europe ends trading higher after Fed’s event
Major European stock market indexes ended Friday’s session in the green as the traders digested the remarks delivered by United States Chair Jerome Powell.
The head of the US central bank hinted that the monetary policy may change by the end of the year, but also underlined the need to reassess and monitor the impact of the Delta variant on the economic recovery.
The DAX gained 0.37% as the session ended with Infineon surging 1.85%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.24% at the same time as ArcelorMittal advanced by 2.8%. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.32% at the close. Anglo American soared 3.01%, as the benchmark’s top performer. The euro and the pound jumped 0.3% and 0.38% versus the dollar at 5:29 pm CET, selling for 1.17872 and 1.37509, respectively.
