Europe finishes lower amid Brexit fears
Major European stock markets closed below the flatline on Friday as investors are worried about the Brexit deal surfacing. European Union Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier warned that time was running out. On the data front, the number of goods bought in retail sales in the United Kingdom in October decreased by 3.8% compared to the previous month while producer prices in Germany fell by 0.5% year-on-year in November.
The FTSE 100 dropped 0.33% at the end of the session as Land Securities Group plunged by 6.50%. The DAX slid 0.27%, with Adidas AG falling 1.69% at the closing bell. The CAC 40 was down 0.48%. Saint Gobain was the worst performer, falling by 4.68%.
The euro decreased by 0.29% against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET, selling for $1.22273. The pound lost 0.59% to change hands for $1.34890 at the same time.
