Europe higher premarket amid vaccine optimism
European stocks were in the green in premarket trading on Friday after encouraging news on a coronavirus vaccine from BioNTech and Pfizer as well as Johnson & Johnson were released in the previous day. Meanwhile, investors focused on politics in the United States as former Vice President Joe Biden accepted the Democratic presidential nomination.
Germany’s DAX rose 0.53% at 7:34 am CET and the FTSE 100 was up by 0.15% at the same time. The CAC 40 increased by 0.54% at 7:34 am CET.
The euro gained 0.14% against the dollar to go for 1.18779 at 7:35 am CET while the pound was 0.22% higher compared to the greenback at 7:36 am CET, changing hands for 1.32422.
