Exec action to be made if deal on relief not reached – Meadows
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows (pictured) said President Donald Trump will likely issue an executive order on coronavirus if the Republicans and the Democrats fail to reach an agreement on a stimulus package.
“If we don’t reach a topline number, we have very little incentive to have further conversations,” Meadows told the press, noting there is a possibility the Democratic side isn’t “willing” to reach an accord.
The two parties likely have until Friday to concur on the $1 trillion worth bill, as both Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin were quoted saying if the stimulus is not agreed on by the date there will likely be no deal at all.
