Facebook to allow work from home until July 2021

Facebook has extended its work from home policy giving those employed at the company an option to continue operating remotely through mid-next year due to growing concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, The Business Insider reported citing the company’s spokesperson, Nneka Norville.

“Based on guidance from health and government experts, as well as decisions drawn from our internal discussions about these matters, we are allowing employees to continue voluntarily working from home until July 2021,” the spokesperson told the media outlet in a statement. She went on to note the tech giant also made the decision to provide its workers with an additional $1,000 for setting up their home offices.

Facebook is the second big tech company to set the date for revaluating its remote work policy for next July following the example of Google and its parent company, Alphabet. Another one of the four tech titans, Amazon.com had said their staff is set for a return on January 8.
