FDA to allow ‘mix and match’ for COVID boosters – report
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is planning to announce that it will allow Americans to receive booster shots by a different brand of COVID-19 vaccine than the one they initially received, The New York Times reported citing sources familiar with the matter.
The agency will not recommend any booster over another but is expected to authorize mixing and matching as early as this week, the report noted.
The FDA is also likely to approve Moderna Inc. and Johnson & Johnson boosters this week, according to The Times.
