Fed’s $1T repo ops to last until the end of March
The United States Federal Reserve will conduct repurchase agreement operations in the amount of $1 trillion until the end of March, the central bank confirmed on Friday.
The Fed revealed in a statement: “These repo operations will be conducted for an aggregate offered amount of $500 billion. Also, the aggregate offered amount for the overnight repo operations conducted each morning will increase to $500 billion for the remainder of the current monthly operational schedule.”
The repo ops will be conducted by the New York Federal Reserve Bank’s Trading Desk and the additional repo ops for same-day settlement will be take place from 1:30 pm ET to 1:45 pm ET each day for the rest of the month.
