Fiat Chrysler, Engie EPS team up in eMobility venture
Fiat Chrysler and Engie EPS, a part of French utility ENGIE group which focuses on energy storage systems, microgrids and eMobility, said on Thursday it entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at creating the joint venture in order to “offer throughout Europe a complete range of innovative products and solutions, designed to allow everyone to access electric mobility in a simple and practical way.”
Both parties plan to finalize the agreement by the end of the year and to form a joint venture in the first quarter of 2021, once the authorizations have been obtained from the competent authorities.
FCA Chief Executive Mike Manley said: “The envisioned joint venture would allow an even higher commitment from both parties to expand the scope of the existing cooperation and further develop innovative products and services to enable and support a smooth shift to electric mobility in Europe.”
