Ford US EV sales soar 184% in May
Ford Motor Company announced on Thursday that its electric vehicle sales in the United States in May skyrocketed 184% compared to the same month in 2020.
Total vehicle sales rose by 4.1% year on year, with SUV sales surging 48.6%. On the other hand, total truck and car sales dropped 11.6% and 62.4%, respectively, compared to May 2020.
“We have been receiving a massive number of reservations for our all-electric F-150 Lightning over the last two weeks – totaling over 70,000 trucks. Ford brand SUVs had their best May sales in 18 years, while Lincoln SUVs posted a new May record,” Ford Sales US and Canada Vice President Andrew Frick also revealed in the press release.
