France recalls Turkey ambassador after Erdogan’s comments
France recalled on Saturday its ambassador from Turkey after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (pictured left) disparaged French President Emmanuel Macron (right) over his alleged mistreatment of Muslims. Erdogan’s comments followed an attack in which a teacher was killed in Paris.
The Turkish president questioned Macron’s mental health due to his treatment of “millions of members” of the Islamic faith in France. Macron’s office replied that his statement was “unacceptable” and rejected the “outrage and insult” expressed in it.
