France reports 1,438 virus deaths in worst day yet
France has registered 1,438 new COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, marking the worst day for the country since the beginning of the outbreak. Therefore, the overall death toll surpassed 17,000.
However, Public Health Authority Director Jerome Salomon insisted the latest increase in numbers represents a sum of data entries from the past weekend. Compared to yesterday’s 762 victims, the figure seems to have been doubled.
The good news is that the number of hospitalized patients fell for the first time, as well as the amount of people in intensive care.
