French retailers to reopen from May 11 – Le Maire
The French government is expecting all retailers, safe for restaurants and bars, to reopen from May 11 when the coronavirus restrictions are lifted, the country’s Minister of Finance Bruno Le Maire (pictured) said on Wednesday.
The lockdown, put in place in March to limit the spread of COVID-19, is expected to reduce the country’s gross domestic product by 8%.
According to the Ministry of Labor, more than half of the workers in the private sector have been laid off and are having their salaries paid by the state.
