Georgia election phone call was perfect – Trump
“My phone call to the Secretary of State of Georgia was perfect, perhaps even more so than my call with the Ukrainian President, if that’s possible,” former United States President Donald Trump wrote in a statement released on Thursday. He added he was aware “numerous lawyers for both sides” were involved in the phone call, but that he “assumed the call may have been inappropriately, and perhaps illegally, recorded.”
“I didn’t say anything wrong in the call, made while I was President on behalf of the United States of America, to look into the massive voter fraud which took place in Georgia,” the ex-president asserted, urging the local authorities to investigate 2020 presidential election irregularities, rather than his phone call.
Ealier in the day, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis requested that a special grand jury be formed to investigate Trump’s attempts to overturn the election result in the state of Georgia.
