German COVID cases up by 25,533, deaths by 412
In Germany, at least 25,533 people tested positive for the COVID-19 in the past twenty-four hours, taking the country’s total to 1,612,648, according to Robert Koch Institute’s (RKI) tally.
The cumulative number of deaths in Germany rose to a total of 29,182 after another 412 fatalities were attributed to the virus during the time period. The reported figures come exactly a week after the nation’s health authorities registered record 33,777 daily cases.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg revealed that the country saw its first case of the new COVID-19 variant in a person that arrived from the United Kingdom.
