German COVID incidence rate and daily cases hit records
The German seven-day COVID-19 incidence rate has risen to its highest level since the pandemic began with 706.3 cases seen per 100,000 inhabitants, as the total number of infections increased by 140,160, according to data compiled by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
The nationwide death toll reached 116,485 in the meantime, with another 170 fatal outcomes attributed to the virus. The total number of cases reached 8,460,546.
