Germany threatens to sanction Russia over Navalny
Germany will introduce sanctions against Russia in case the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) says Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny was poisoned with Novichok, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said on Saturday.
He added the sanctions will come in case the international organization confirms the findings of German doctors.
Navalny was taken to Germany for treatment after he fell into a coma in Russia. His team and German doctors claimed that he was poisoned in Russia while the Kremlin insists he had no toxins in his system when leaving Russia and accused Navalny of working with the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
