Good US-France ties are of ‘great importance’ – Paris
The improvement of relations between France and the United States is of “great importance” as the two countries are “involved in resolving issues” that concern the entire world, French government spokesperson Gabriel Attal (pictured) stated on Friday.
“It is necessary to relaunch bilateral cooperation with the Americans,” Attal said to BFM TV, pointing out the importance of both Paris’ and Washington’s role in tackling the “climate change and the fight against terrorism in the Sahel.”
Later during the day, US President Joe Biden and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to have an in-person meeting for the first time since the diplomatic row over a submarine deal arose.
