Google adding Microsoft apps to Chromebooks
Alphabet’s Google is working with Parallels to bring Microsoft Office apps to Chromebooks, Google’s Vice President of Chrome OS John Solomon announced in a blog post published on Tuesday.
Solomon added that the coronavirus pandemic has proven that most work nowadays needs cloud technology to support remote work. The new partnership means that Chromebooks will be able to substitute laptops for some workers. Additionally, both Android and Windows apps will be supported on the devices running on Chrome OS.
Google will give more information on the Parallels partnership in the coming months, Solomon stressed.
