Google appeals EU’s €2.4 billion antitrust fine
Alphabet Inc.’s Google LLC has appealed the ruling confirming the European Commission’s €2.4 billion antitrust fine against it, a company spokesperson told media on Thursday.
The decision to appeal the November 2021 ruling by the European Union’s General Court came “after careful consideration” and because Google feels “there are areas that require legal clarification from the European Court of Justice,” the company official explained.
The American tech giant will nevertheless “continue to work constructively” with the commission, according to the spokesperson.
