Graham wants to convince Trump to work with GOP
Senator Lindsey Graham said that he would be meeting with former President Donald Trump soon in an effort to convince him to help to keep the Republican Party united ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
“I’m going to try and convince him that we can’t get there without you, but you can’t keep the Trump movement going without the GOP united,” Graham told reporters. “If we come back in 2022, then, it’s an affirmation of your policies. But if we lose again in 2022, the narrative is going to continue that not only you lost the White House, but the Republican Party is in a bad spot,” the South Carolina senator added.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that Graham’s phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger after November’s presidential election will be looked into as part of a wider probe investigating Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the vote in Georgia.
