Grand jury indicts 4 ex-policemen over Floyd’s death
A federal grand jury indicted on Friday four ex-policemen involved in the murder of African American George Floyd, accusing them of violating his constitutional rights.
The jury indicted Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao, according to the unsealed indictments, for not providing medical care to Floyd. Furthermore, Chauvin, Thao and Kueng have been charged with violating Floyd’s rights by using unreasonable seizure and excessive force.
Chauvin, who was previously found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter, was now also indicted for neck restraint of a 14-year-old four years ago.
