Hancock praises Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine news
United Kingdom Health Secretary Matt Hancock described on Monday AstraZeneca’s and Oxford’s vaccine efficacy statement as “really good news.”
Speaking to Sky News, the health secretary added that the UK will purchase 100 million doses of the vaccine and pointed out that it could be rolled out in 2021 if approved.
Hancock’s comments come after AstraZeneca and Oxford University announced that their vaccine has a 70% efficacy on average, with the figure rising to over 90%, depending on dosing.
