India adds record 346,786 COVID cases, 2,624 deaths

India’s Health and Family Welfare Ministry said on Saturday that 346,786 people across the country tested positive for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.

The figure brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 16,610,481 and marks a new record in daily infections.

The number of virus-related deaths jumped by 2,624 to 189,544, while recoveries reached 13,867,997, rising by 219,838 from the previous update.
