India imposes quarantine for travelers from at-risk countries
Indian authorities decided on Friday to mandate self-isolation for all people arriving in India from at-risk countries as the number of Omicron cases rose. Incoming travelers will have to quarantine for seven days and take a COVID-19 test on day eight, regardless of their vaccination status.
India also expanded its list of at-risk countries. In addition to the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Israel, Tanzania and Ghana, the list now also includes the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kazakhstan. Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Zambia.
