Inflation to ease in 2022 if COVID is controlled – Yellen
United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she expects inflation to ease over the course of the year if the country succeeds in getting the COVID-19 pandemic under control.
In an interview with CNBC, Yellen noted she has confidence in the Federal Reserve’s ability to make appropriate judgments, adding that the responsibility for addressing inflation is shared by the Fed and the White House.
“Inflation rose by more than most economists, including me, expected and of course, it’s our responsibility with the Fed to address that. And we will,” said Yellen.
