Iran adds record 17,430 new COVID cases, 174 deaths
The Health Ministry of Iran unveiled on Tuesday that the number of people who have contracted the coronavirus grew by 17,430 during the past 24 hours, marking the sharpest daily rise in cases that the country has seen since the start of the pandemic.
Within the same period, there were 174 deaths attributed to the virus, with the country’s COVID death toll now at 63,506. After the latest updates, Iran’s case tally climbed to 1,963,394.
Earlier during the day, Iranian Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi stated that the country’s first coronavirus vaccine will be ready for use in some 40 days.
