Iran ‘optimistic’ about progress of nuclear talks
Iran’s chief negotiator in the Vienna nuclear talks Ali Bagheri Kani stated on Sunday that he remains “optimistic” about reaching an agreement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
On the other hand, Kani said that the European side failed to come up with “initiatives to resolve differences over the removal of sanctions,” adding that the United States also needs to take a “rational approach” when it comes to sanctions and the negotiations.
The nuclear talks in Vienna restarted last week with the European Union characterizing the talks as having a “renewed sense of purpose.” Meanwhile, the US noted it will take other measures against Iran if the talks fail.
