Israel deal ‘strengthens Bahrain’s security, stability’
Bahraini Minister of Interior of Bahrain Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa (pictured, middle) on Monday said the normalization of the country’s relations would strengthen its economic partnership with the United States, as well as the stability in the region amid Iran’s nuclear threats.
“Iran has chosen to behave in a dominating way in several forms and has become a constant danger that harms our internal security,” Khalifa said and stressed the deal with Israel does not mean “an abandonment of the Palestinian cause.”
Earlier this month, it was announced Bahrain would follow the United Arab Emirates and sign a peace agreement with Israel in a move that was hailed by Washington and Abu Dhabi and condemned by Hezbollah.
