Italy declares 8 days of red zone for holidays
Italy declared 8 days of the red zone for the holidays on Friday due to an increased number of COVID-19 cases and deaths.
According to the announcement, from December 24 to January 6 Italy will be in the red zone on holidays and the day before holidays and the orange zone on working days. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte stated it is important for Italy to avoid a fresh surge in coronavirus infections over Christmas and New Year.
During the holiday season, it will be possible to leave the territory of small municipalities under 5 thousand inhabitants, within a radius of 30 kilometers.
